The Department of Computer Networks and Communication Engineering is well equipped with high-end design and analysis laboratories, which are used, extensively by the students and faculty members for their curriculum and research activities. The following is the list of the Labs

 

 


 

Semiconductor Devices Lab

Semiconductor Devices Lab is designed for the engineers/students in the field of electronic devices and circuits. The Students learn to have experience, introduction and in-depth knowledge about Semiconductor Electronics devices. Students will be able to use the devices in circuits and it’s designing on lab as well as on Industrial level. The lab supports the students to design and simulate the electronics circuits. Moreover the students manage to know about the electronic devices, their functions, uses, industrial applications and as well as its troubleshooting. Students can also assemble, measure, and evaluate the circuit characteristics using laboratory instruments. Students use Multisim and Electronic Workbench for circuit simulation.

Electrical & Electronic Circuit Lab

Students learn to design and simulate electronic circuits, and then assemble, measure, and evaluate the circuit characteristics using laboratory instruments. Students develop competency in measurement science utilizing modern advanced instruments, which are similar to instruments presently being used by engineers in industry. Experiments in Networks and Systems use passive electronic components and courses in Electronics progress to experiments in transistors and integrated circuits. Students use Multisim and Proteus for simulation, Arduino for measuring sensors.

Computer Design & Organization Lab

Computer Design and Organization happens to be a core course in most of the Undergraduate Curricula of the entire Electrical Sciences Discipline (Computer Science / Engg., Electronics, Electrical) etc. The Computer Design and Organization Laboratory is an interactive environment for creating and conducting simulated experiments using Altera DE2-115 FPGA devices: a playground for experimentation.

The Objective is to expose the students to the various key aspects of Computer Organization & Architecture by enabling them to perform FPGA based prototyping of experiments with support of Quartus II web edition software. Students learn to execute programs using Verilog programming language.

Signal & Systems Lab

Signal & Systems lab is a state of the art lab equipped with all the necessary equipment needed which not only fulfills the educational demands but also prepares our student to meet the challenges of modern industry in the field of communication. Students are required and they can perform practical on Signals & System, Principles of wireless communication, Digital Communication and Digital Signal Processing. Communication lab is equipped with modern and sophisticated equipment, both software and hardware, to fulfill the requirements of students in performing practical and projects in the field of signaling, communication and signal processing.

Optical Fiber Lab

Highly equipped modern Optical Fiber lab is used for different kind of Optical Measurements.  Analog and Digital transmission of signal through Optical Fiber, FM, PWM, TDM, Encoding Decoding of Optical Signals taught though specific Sciencetech Kits. Optical Fiber losses observe though OTDR, OPM, OLS, and OFL. For Antenna design HFSS software is used. Also Matlab and other related software are in installed.

Satellite Communication Lab

Satellite Communication Lab is designed for the engineers/students in the field of Satellite Communication to give the ideas about the data transaction with the help of Satellite. The Students will get the concepts and ideas about the Satellite Communication using the Hardware as well the Software.

This Lab is also installed with softwares for conducting Mobile Networks module. Students learn the concepts of cell planning, cell allocation and sectorization. Students are also able to design  network for LTE and perform various tasks such as group planning, neighbour listing and traffic planning.  

This Lab is also designed for software based topic like Engineering Project Management where student will take the session for the Project Management.

Computer Network Lab

In Computer Network Laboratory students learn to design different networks topologies and configure them on networking devices such as switches, routers, firewalls, gateway, wifi, IP Phone's, etc. Students also learn to implement routing protocols, test the connectivity, authentication, reliability, encryption, decryption on simulators Cisco packet tracer and GNS3.

Wireless Networks Lab

Students learn how to design, develop, and maintain wireless network systems. They build and test a range of network topologies and network infrastructure in well-equipped specialist wireless computing, and networking lab.  Lab is equipped with the latest wired and wireless routing, switching and firewall equipment. Students gain confidence designing, building and implementing complex networked systems in a range of business environments. Dedicated labs based on CISCO courses help them prepare for CCNA and CCNP certifications.

Advanced Networking Lab

The outcome of this lab is to learn students how to design Intranet, High Availability Networks, Internet Architecture, Network programming and management of big campus networks. Then measure, and evaluate the network performance and develop the network designs. The students use all hardware equipment to configure the best choice of standard network design using all protocols they needed (RIPV2.EIGRP,OSPF,BGP,TCP,UDP,HSRP,VRRP,GLBP ,STP ,QoS ) using all hardware and software simulation tools like packet tracer ,GNS3, java JDK and j-creator.

Projects Lab

This laboratory is primarily used for students’ projects. It provides them necessary equipment, accessories and components for accomplishing their project activities. It is use for project discussion and presentation delivered by students. It is also equipped with computers with internet service, printer, TV screen, projector with screen etc.
