The program is designed and formulated by understanding the priority of university mission, goals, and objectives. The program is widely-designed in the Computer Science domain and emphasizes on Information Systems' development. It covers the technological domain of business requirements; focuses the analytical needs of business in accordance to the real-time challenges.
The current curriculum does not have any tracks, optional courses, and electives. All the courses are compulsory; only one course, titled Selected Topics, keeps on changing to latest technology domain.
The degree program comprises of 151 credit units. The degree plan spans over five academic years: two semesters (Fall and Spring) in an academic year (the third one, the Summer semester, is optional). A student can take minimum of 12 and a maximum of 18 credit units per semester. The classes are held five days a week, 8.00 AM to through the day.
The program is offered in the Department of Information Systems, College of Computer Science at the main campus (Al-Gregar, Abha) for male students and at Al-Samer Campus for female students. The program at the female campus is directly controlled and monitored from the main campus. The program is also offered at other campuses of KKU on the guidelines of the department.
