Transfer Students and Transfer Courses Policy

a. Transfer from One University to KKU

The transfer of a student from outside the University may be accepted under the following conditions:

  1. Approval from the  Computer science college is a must for the transfer from external universities.
  2. The student should have studied at a recognized college or university.
  3. The student must not have been dismissed from that university for disciplinary reasons.
  4. The student must satisfy the transfer conditions, as determined by the University Council.
  5. The transfer applicant should possess a Saudi Arabian Nationality or a Saudi Arabian mother and enrolled in the Saudi government university.
  6. The College Council evaluates the courses that were taken by the student outside the University, based on the recommendations of the departments that offer equivalent courses. The courses evaluated as equivalent is recorded in the student’s academic transcript but are not included in the calculation of his/her cumulative GPA.
  7. If it becomes evident, after a student’s transfer, that the student was dismissed for disciplinary reasons, his/her enrollment is considered cancelled from the date of acceptance of his/her transfer to the University.
  8. The transfer of a student from one university to KKU during any semester takes place in accordance with the procedures and the dates announced by the university to which the student is transferring, according to the general rules governing transfer.
  9. The student must have successfully studied between two and four semesters before applying for transfer to the program. And the remaining period should be enough to fulfill the graduation requirements.
  10. The student should pass any tests required by the college or department that he wants to get transferred to.
  11. In special cases the transfer committee can accept transferring of the student for human cases, but the committee has the right to choose the college and the kind of study according to student situation.

 

b.  Transfer from other Colleges within the University 

A student may transfer from one college to another within the university, in accordance with the rules established by the University Council:

  1. The student must have successfully studied between two and four semesters before applying for transfer to the program. And the remaining period should be enough to fulfill the graduation requirements.
  2. The student will be provided a link to transfer between colleges from the university website in the section of the academic calendar. And they have to fulfill all the requirements with the first week of the beginning of studies. Students will get the notification from the college, he is transferred to.
  3. The dean of the college has to accept the request for the transfer of the major electronically. After that the Deanship of Admission and Registration will confirm it.
  4. A student is allowed a maximum of two transfers from one major to another within the same College. The College Council may consider exceptional cases.
  5. All courses that have been studied by a student who has transferred from one major to another are recorded in his/her academic record, including the grades and the semester and cumulative GPAs obtained throughout his/her study at the University.​
  6. Min GPA not less than 3.5 is mandatory for the student to transfer from medical and Engineering  colleges
  7. Min GPA not less than 4.5 is mandatory for the student to transfer from other scientific colleges.
  8. For transfer to the college from Theoretical colleges the student should have Scientific secondary school 83% FPGA and 4.5 GPA in college.

 

c. Transfer from One Major to Another within the College

A student may transfer from one major to another within a college, in accordance with the rules established by the University Council:

  1. The student must have successfully studied between two and four semesters before applying for transfer to the program. And the remaining period should be enough to fulfill the graduation requirements.
  2. The student will be provided a link to transfer between colleges from the university website in the section of the academic calendar. And they have to fulfill all the requirements with the first week of the beginning of studies. Students will get the notification from the college, he is transferring to.
